We’re celebrating a proud moment for EagleTron, our FRC Team 9559, formed under the SHIELD Mentor Program. At this year’s 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition Mecklenburg County Event, EagleTron delivered an outstanding performance—and their efforts didn’t go unnoticed.
Congratulations to our team for earning the Judges’ Award!

This recognition reflects EagleTron’s exceptional collaboration, unique performance, and strong team dynamics. It's more than a win—it’s a reflection of what happens when young lives come together with purpose, dedication, and a passion for learning.
Fueling the Future of Robotics & Innovation
We’re also thrilled to share a major boost for our team: a generous $5,000 grant from MHI. This support will fuel EagleTron’s continued growth in the exciting world of robotics, engineering, and innovation.

This grant isn’t just about financial assistance—it’s an investment in the future of our young people. In industries like manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain management, automation and robotics are revolutionizing the way we work. Thanks to MHI, our students are getting hands-on opportunities to explore these critical fields, developing skills that will shape the future workforce.
MHI recognizes that supply chains are the unseen backbone of modern life—just like mentors are the guiding force behind every empowered young person. Through their partnership, EagleTron is not only building robots—they’re building confidence, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving abilities.
With this support, our team will continue:
Designing innovative robotic systems
Learning essential STEM and engineering principles
Developing leadership, collaboration, and technical skills
Preparing to lead the charge in tomorrow’s technology-driven industries
The Journey Continues: Join Us This Summer and Beyond
Earning the Judges’ Award was a defining moment—but it’s not the end of the road for EagleTron. It’s only the beginning.
We’re committed to keeping the momentum going throughout the summer and into the fall, providing meaningful opportunities for young people to explore robotics, deepen their STEM knowledge, and build critical life skills. Before the next competition season arrives, our focus remains on flourishing as a year-round program—one where learning never stops and mentorship continues to guide our youth forward.
What’s Ahead:
Summer robotics meetups and build days
Technical training and skill-building workshops
Guest speakers and industry mentors
Fall STEM innovation projects
Whether your child is brand new to robotics or looking to expand their experience, this is a powerful opportunity to become part of something that builds confidence, leadership, and real-world skills.
We are now accepting new student interest for our off-season programming. If you are a parent or guardian of a rising 7th–12th grader, we’d love to hear from you.
